Be the GOOD GIRL you always have to be... Young Princess Festivia wasn't always fun with her 'father', King Shastacan. He always seemed to be too busy running Mewni to ever pay attention to her. He also didn't like to be asked anything about her 'mother', Queen Eclipsa. However, deep down, she knows she's his pride and joy and that her job is to be a good daughter, become a good queen and make both her 'father' and people happy..
Headcannon that after replacing Meteora and Eclipsa's crystal imprisonment, Shastacan probably bribed Festivia's peasant parents into giving them lots of money in exchange for their baby daughter, even ensuring her real family that their daughter would live a comfortable life of luxury. Since Shastacan was so awful that Eclipsa had to run away with her monster love, he would probably be a negligent "parent" towards Festivia, only seeing his "daughter" as means to keep up appearances and his throne.
